The Claim Maker guide (version 2.0.12) was migrated from the legacy Manula site to docs.hank.ai. All screenshots were rehosted and internal links updated.
1. Navigate to https://cm.hank.ai/ in your browser. (You will need to be connected to your employer's network to access the Claim Maker URL).
NOTE: Preferred Browsers: Chrome and Edge
2. Select your login type from the options listed. Select and/or enter your normal work email account and password. If prompted, please allow the application access to your profile information. This information will be used to authenticate with Claim Maker.
3. Once logged in, you will see the error in the image below . This is because you still need organization, roles, and facility access added to your account. Once you reach this error, please reach out to your organization's Hank Claim Maker Administrator requesting the organization and facilities you need access to in Claim Maker. Access will be granted within 24 hours after request.
The first time you log in, you will encounter the following – reach out to your system administrator to be added to your organization:
4. Once your admin manager has given you the correct access to your organization and facilities – each time you log in, by default, the selected view is "Coder View". This view will be used to perform the majority of functions described in the document. The "Reconcile View", which can be accessed using the tabs at the top of the screen (see image below), will also be used to create cases when a facility fails to send the documentation for a scheduled patient in the automatic feed or the coder identifies a missing document during medical coding activities.
NOTE: Contact your organization Admin for assistance if you're having trouble logging in for the first time or after you have been added to your organization. You may need to clear your browser cookies/cache to see updates. This is a one time troubleshooting option.
Users may now adjust panel dimensions within the Coder, Reconcile, and Data Entry views. Panel borders are draggable, allowing documentation, line-item, and case-information regions to be sized independently.
Upon entry of a valid zip code in any address field, the platform now automatically populates the corresponding City and State values. This behavior is applied uniformly across all address entry points within the application.
We're excited to introduce an enhancement that makes it faster and easier to access the most important documentation for reconciliation, coding, and case review. The Complete Record PDF will now display by default whenever you open a case. You can read more about this feature here.
Gender is now a viewable and editable field for both the Insurance Guarantor/Responsible Party and the Insured/Subscriber within the Data Entry View. The field is surfaced wherever these roles are displayed, ensuring consistent access throughout the platform.

We're excited to share that a new Hank Claim Maker production update, Hank Claim Maker 2.0.12 Release #2, has been successfully deployed. This release includes multiple features and enhancements.
This new feature introduces the capability to add any supplemental, discontinuous, or non‑primary time intervals associated with the case as Additional Times. This provides a clear, more structured visibility into time segments that fall outside the primary anesthesia start/stop window. Each Additional Time segment can be associated with individual additional line items and claim entities, allowing downstream systems and users an ability to understand which line items apply to each discrete time segment. This is especially important for scenarios such as Labor → C‑Section transitions, multi‑phase procedures, or cases where supplemental anesthesia time must be tied to specific line items and claim entities. The CPT Code Long Descriptions enhance coding accuracy by providing comprehensive CPT Code details and contextual explanations. These Long Descriptions will provide improved Search capabilities and streamline the workflow.
The Enhanced Auditing on the application of All AutoCoding Predictions for a Line Item provides improved oversight into the accuracy and efficiency of AutoCoding Predictions. These audits will also provide real-time feedback and improvements to the AutoCoding Product.
The enhanced Provider NPI Matching improves AutoCoding Provider Predictions using automated matching of Providers & NPIs. These predictions will improve Unique Identification, Compliance Support, and Workflow Efficiency while reducing downstream billing errors.
These Note Summaries reduce the time required to understand complex medical documents by highlighting the most critical information for decision making.
This feature brings automation to the fingertips of users by providing the ability to send an attached document for processing (PDF-Extractror or DocuVision). This feature enhances your ability to process Cases that are on hold due to missing documentation or required manual creation. The processed document details will be used to populate the Case Details, Data Entry Fields, and AutoCoding Predictions (when applicable). It also includes the presentation of a Notification Banner within Hank Claim Maker once the document has been processed successfully.
The identification of Missing Required Fields for Batches instantly notifies users of the information needed prior to the Batch Export and Charge Entry operations. This will allow users to define and resolve missing information prior to any Charge Entry activities and reduce the number of errors in the Billing Cycle.
This release happens every year to push out the new CPT and ASA codes introduced for the following year.
Export Enhancement that includes robust functionality allowing customers to seamlessly export their data in various formats, including Client Specific, JSON and CSV. This flexibility ensures users can tailor the data to fit their specific needs and workflows, whether they require Client Specific format, the structured format of JSON for web applications, or the tabular format of CSV for spreadsheets and databases.
Export Enhancement that enables users to export multiple files simultaneously, streamlining workflows and boosting efficiency. With just a few clicks, users can select multiple Facility Batches, select the intended format for export, and save valuable time by reducing repetitive tasks. This Enhancements highlights Missing or Required fields for a Case after Code Completion. This ensures data integrity and completeness of Cases even after the Case is Code Complete. The highlighted fields serve as visual cues, guiding Users to fill in necessary data before Exporting a Batch and completing Charge Entry actions.
Our latest feature for Audit Logs allows Users to Export the Audit Logs within the Hank Claim Maker Product. This includes at the Batch Level, Case Level, and Admin Manager Level. Users can easily Export Audit Logs into Excel Format, ensuring Auditable Actions are accessible for further review and compliance purposes. This feature is designed to enhance transparency and accountability by providing clear and detailed records of User updates to Batch State and Case State within the Hank Claim Maker Product.
Our latest Custom Fields enhancement enhances the flexibility and functionality of the Case Level Custom Fields within the Hank Claim Maker Product. A total of 8 custom fields are now available to use. This expansion allows for greater customization in data entry, ensuring all unique business needs are met.
Our latest Audit Level Enhancement expands the Audit Capabilities within the Hank Claim Maker Product to include Batch Level State Changes. These Batch Level Audit Capabilities provide Users an easy way to monitor changes, identify compliance issues, and generate insightful reports.
- Export File Names will now include the Batch DOS (__DOS) to ensure files are easier to locate, manage, and reduce confusion.

We're excited to introduce a new enhancement that allows a patient case to be marked as P-Status Emergent. This designation provides a clear, standardized way to identify encounters where services were delivered under emergent conditions, supporting both compliant billing and accurate clinical documentation.
We've expanded the Help Menu (?) to make it easier to access information needed while working with the product. The Help Menu now includes a direct link to the Hank Claim Maker User Guide. We introduced Human Review Elements in Hank Claim Maker 2.0.12 Release # 1. This release expands those capabilities.
The new workflow introduced in Release # 1 has been enhanced to introduce filtering capabilities when the Work Queue is enabled. The proximity of the Action Buttons for Filters, States, and State Reasons located on the Batches & Cases Panes often resulted in errors that could go undetected or were difficult to correct. This feature refines the User Interface and interactions for State & State Reason changes to minimize errors and accelerate daily workflows.
The Document Processing Notifications are currently Organizational Level and not targeted just for the initiating user. This Enhancement provides the ability to reduce noise and notifications that may fatigue users across your Organization.

The enhanced Batch Level Required Field counts streamline workflows by not only including empty required fields, but also Required Fields that are populated with a Confidence Level of 0.5 and below. This enhancement will improve overall billing accuracy and operational efficiency.
The automatic expansion of Note Summaries from AutoCoding will provide improved Workflow Efficiency by providing Key Information Summaries and reducing the time needed to access and review lengthy notes.

AutoCoding Predictions will include, when applicable, the Source Documents used for critical decisions made for the Coding Predictions. This feature is a bedrock for AutoCoding Predictions (along with the Note Summaries above), ensuring the foundation of quality, compliance, transparency, relevance, and integrity. The Prediction Source Document, when applicable, will be displayed next to each Prediction (see example below), that will allow users to view and navigate to the Source Document(s).
This enhancement to the Audit Log Export capability from the Admin View, highlights the Facility & DOS, allowing users to quickly locate relevant Audit information within the file. This enhancement ensures users can easily navigate and understand the data within the Audit Log, improving the overall efficiency of the data and analysis.

This enhancement to our AutoCoding Predictions provides color-coded visual indicators to the individual Predictions based on Confidence values. Users can quickly gauge the reliability / confidence of the AutoCoding Predictions. For instance, High Confidence Predictions (Default Thresholds will be Confidence values 0.95 & higher) will be displayed in Green, while Lower Confidence Predictions (Default Threshold will be Confidence values below 0.95) will appear in Yellow. These Default Thresholds are configurable per Client. This intuitive visual aid enhances the User's decision-making by allowing for easy identification and prioritization of high confidence insights, making the interaction with the AutoCoding Predictions more transparent and User Friendly.
This Enhancement brings the ability to Review or Add Suffix to Patient Name, Guarantor / Responsible Party Name, and Insured / Subscriber Name. This enhancement ensures Billing / Claims processing is correct and reduces the likelihood of a rejection and additional work / delays.
Case Notes Enhancement that allows users to add detailed Case Notes to a Case, with each Case Note automatically tagged with the User's Name and the exact Timestamp of when the Case Note was created. This enhancement ensures that all Case Notes are clearly attributed and time-stamped, providing a transparent and organized way to track user interactions and updates.
This enhancement will automatically apply the National Provider Indicator (NPI) to the Provider Predictions provided by the AutoCoding Product. This level of automation reduces the need for Manual Entry of the Provider on individual Case Line Items. This will minimize the risk of errors and save time.
Our latest Audit Log Enhancement incorporates the User's Email that has performed an Auditable Action within the system. By including the User's Email, you can easily identify and track Audit Log entries, improving our ability to provide targeted Support and detailed Audit Trails.
Our latest Admin View enhancement, includes the ability to easily identify the Number of Ignored Cases within a Batch. Users can easily and quickly identify Batch(es) that are ready for Billing Exports with enhanced efficiency by identifying Cases within a certain State.
